In 2026, Tajikistan’s initial vocational education institutions graduated 11,550 students, which is 2,706 more than in 2025. Of these, 8,488 obtained permanent jobs, while 3,693 continued their studies at universities, institutes and colleges.
DUSHANBE, 2026-10-18 /Khovar National News Agency/. The number of graduates with “excellent” diplomas rose to 211 in 2026, compared with 144 in 2025. According to Fayziddin Qurbonzoda, this indicates a higher level of preparation among part of the students. The head of the Initial Vocational Education Department of the Committee on Initial and Secondary Vocational Education under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan said the growth in graduate numbers shows broader youth participation in vocational training and the preparation of skilled workers. He noted that quality of knowledge, practical skills, relevance to labour market needs and the ability to find suitable employment are key indicators of the system’s effectiveness. He also said that initial vocational education institutions cooperate with 620 organisations and enterprises on industrial internships and on helping graduates find jobs. At the same time, 3,062 people are still looking for suitable work, which he said underlines the need for stronger links between educational institutions and the labour market.
