Farmers in Vahdat have raised total output to more than Somoni 1.689 billion this year

This was reported on 24 October during President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon's visit to an exhibition of agricultural produce, handicrafts and national dishes in Vahdat.

Particular attention was given to expanding grain planting areas, increasing greenhouse acreage, breeding high-quality livestock, raising poultry numbers, enlarging fish ponds, and growing legumes, industrial crops, potatoes, vegetables and melons, for which the city's climate is suitable.

The Head of State expressed satisfaction with progress in separate areas of agriculture and with the farmers' round-the-clock work. It was also noted that, thanks to continued government support and the patriotic work of local residents, Vahdat has become one of the country's leading agricultural and industrial areas.
