Dushanbe to host high-level international conference in May 2027 to mark the launch of the Peace-building Decade

DUSHANBE, 2026-10-30 /Khovar/. In May 2027, Dushanbe will host a high-level international conference on the “International Decade for Strengthening Peace for Future Generations, 2027-2036”. The Government of the Republic of Tajikistan approved the relevant decision on 2026-10-27.

Under the decision, an organising committee has been established to prepare for and hold the conference, and an action plan has also been drawn up. The meeting will be held to formally launch the Decade in cooperation with the United Nations and international partners.

The report recalls that on 2026-06-25 the UN General Assembly, at the proposal of the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, adopted a special resolution under the same title. The initiative is presented as part of Tajikistan’s efforts to advance dialogue, a culture of peace and constructive international cooperation.
