Ceremonial event held in the House of Representatives to mark Tajikistan's State Language Day

In Dushanbe on 2026-10-05, a ceremonial event was held in the House of Representatives of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan to mark State Language Day.

First Deputy Speaker Shermuhammad Shokhiyon said the state language is one of the most sacred national values and that state policy is aimed at its protection and development. He added that important legal and institutional foundations for strengthening the status of the Tajik language were created during the years of independence.

The report also refers to the revised 2009 Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On the State Language of the Republic of Tajikistan” and to Emomali Rahmon's continued attention to language, history, culture and national self-awareness.
