Farruh Sharifzoda meets Sun Weidong, Secretary General of the Central Asia-China format

The Tajik deputy foreign minister discussed cooperation and preparations for upcoming meetings with the format’s secretary general during a visit to the secretariat.
DUSHANBE, 27.10.2026. Farruh Sharifzoda, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, visited the Secretariat of the Central Asia-China format and met Sun Weidong, its Secretary General.
The two sides discussed expanding cooperation within the format, as well as preparations for the seventh meeting of the format’s Council of Foreign Ministers in 2026 and the third summit of the Central Asia-China heads of state, due to be held in China in 2027.
Sharifzoda said the Central Asia-China format plays an important role in regional cooperation and in expanding ties between Central Asian countries and China, and he stressed Tajikistan’s readiness to further strengthen cooperation with the Secretariat and help prepare the upcoming events.
