Scientific-practical conference held on the role of the Avicennology Centre in translating and studying Ibn Sina’s works

According to Khovar, the scientific-practical conference titled “The role of the Avicennology Centre in translating and studying Ibn Sina’s works” was held on 27 October 2026 at the Institute of Philosophy and Political Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan. The event was dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Centre’s establishment.

Speakers said the centre plays an important and necessary role in studying Ibn Sina’s ideas and teachings. Participants also discussed several topics, including the centre’s contribution to understanding Ibn Sina’s philosophical heritage, Ibn Sina and the status of women, the national work of the translator of the Canon of Medicine, and the methodological importance of translation in historical and philosophical research.
