On Monday, 2026-10-31, Khovar reported, citing the World Health Organization, that e-cigarettes heat liquid to create an aerosol that users inhale, and that this aerosol may contain nicotine and other harmful chemicals.
According to the report, nicotine use during childhood and adolescence may negatively affect brain development, learning ability and certain processes linked to cognition and behaviour. E-cigarette use may also harm the respiratory system and the cardiovascular system. However, the full effects of long-term use of these products are still under scientific study.
