International conference on sustainable tourism and artificial intelligence development held in Darvoz

DUSHANBE, 18.10.2026 /NIAT “Khovar”/. In Darvoz district, as part of the International Forum on “Sustainable Tourism and Cultural Heritage”, an international academic and practical conference titled “Sustainable Tourism and the Development of Artificial Intelligence in Modern Conditions” was held with the participation of forum guests.

According to the Darvoz district executive authority, the conference discussed the use of artificial intelligence in the development of sustainable tourism, the digitalisation of the tourism sector and cultural and natural heritage, the use of maps and digital platforms, and the application of modern technologies, including GIS, Big Data, IoT, virtual reality and augmented reality, in the protection and promotion of tourist sites.

Attention was also given to the development of ecological, mountain and cultural tourism, the role of local communities and business in improving tourism infrastructure, training sector specialists and the prospects for sustainable tourism in the countries of the Silk Road. Participants exchanged views on the use of innovative technologies to present tourism resources, preserve historical and cultural heritage, and develop tourism in mountainous areas.
