Deputy Prime Minister of Tajikistan inspects field work and irrigation infrastructure in Mastchoh district

DUSHANBE, 28.10.2026 /NIAT “Khovar”/. According to the district executive authorities, on 2026-10-27 Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Sulaymon Ziyozoda inspected field work and the condition of irrigation infrastructure in Mastchoh district. He reviewed the cotton harvest in the district’s jamoats, autumn sowing work and the operation of pump stations. Issues related to the timely harvest, autumn sowing and repair of pumping equipment were also discussed. During the inspection of the “Dilvarzin-2” pump station, officials were instructed to repair and prepare pump stations and the existing infrastructure for next year’s new farming season. It was stated that timely readiness of the stations, repair of worn-out equipment and the uninterrupted operation of the irrigation system are among the main factors for the district’s agricultural development. The report also mentioned the implementation of the project to modernise Mastchoh district’s irrigation system, due to begin in 2027. Some 72 million euros are earmarked for the reconstruction of the system with support from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
