Sirojiddin Muhriddin meets acting deputy secretary-general of UNESCO for natural sciences

In Dushanbe on 2026-10-06, Tajikistan’s Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin met Abu Amani, the acting deputy secretary-general of UNESCO for natural sciences. They discussed the 2025-2034 Decade of Action on Cryosphere Sciences, preparations for the 2028 UN Water Conference in Dushanbe, and expanded cooperation with UNESCO.
According to Tajikistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the talks also covered UNESCO’s participation in Tajikistan’s international initiatives, including the International Decade for Strengthening Peace for Future Generations (2027-2036).
The meeting addressed cooperation between Tajikistan and UNESCO in water, glaciers and science, with both sides reviewing further engagement.
