Second Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft for Somon Air arrives in Tajikistan

On 13 September 2026, Khovar reported that on 12 September the second modern Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft of Somon Air landed at Dushanbe International Airport.

The aircraft has been named after Abuabdullo Rudaki, the founder of classical Tajik-Persian literature. The report says the arrival of new aircraft continues the modernisation of Somon Air's fleet and is an important step in strengthening the country's civil aviation capacity.
