Emomali Rahmon receives Iran’s First Vice-President Muhammadrizo Orif
President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received the First Vice-President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Muhammadrizo Orif, in the Palace of Nations in Dushanbe. Orif is in the capital on a working visit to take part in the SCO Heads of Government meeting.
On 19 October 2026, at the Palace of Nations, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, received the First Vice-President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Muhammadrizo Orif. He is in Dushanbe on a working visit to attend the meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of SCO member states.
During the meeting, Rahmon said that Iran’s participation in the activities of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation is important. The report gives no further details of the talks or any outcomes.
