“Toji Somon”. Selection stage for the best films for the national cinema award has begun

DUSHANBE, 25.09.2026 /Khovar National News Agency/. According to Tajikfilm, the third National Cinema Award “Toji Somon”, under the motto “Recognition of Genuine Art”, will be held in Dushanbe from 15 to 20 October 2026.

Nearly 100 feature films, short films and co-production works created in 2024-2025 have been submitted for participation in the competition. The jury has begun reviewing and assessing the entries, focusing on directing, content, screenplay, acting, cinematography and artistic treatment.

The award is intended to promote Tajik national culture and art, support young talent, strengthen international cooperation in cinema and present Dushanbe as a cultural centre and a city of dialogue among civilisations.
