Dushanbe, 2026-10-25 / Khovar/. In Tajikistan, beekeeping is one of the most profitable branches of agriculture and plays an important role in supplying the population with natural honey, raising family incomes and improving crop pollination.
Scientists at the Tajik Academy of Agricultural Sciences say beekeeping also has environmental significance. Bees are the main pollinators of plants and fruit trees, and their pollination can increase the productivity of orchards and crops by 20 to 50 percent or even more.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tajikistan, 262.0 thousand bee families were kept in all forms of farming in the first 9 months of this year, and 3,530 tonnes of honey were produced. The Agency for Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan said that honey production in January-August this year totalled 1,690.7 tonnes, down 20.7 percent year on year.
