City cooperation in advancing sustainable tourism opportunities. International forum held in Dushanbe

An international forum of Dushanbe titled “City cooperation in advancing sustainable tourism opportunities” was held in the capital of Tajikistan. The event aimed to strengthen inter-city cooperation, develop sustainable tourism, promote the tourism potential of Tajikistan and Dushanbe, attract investment and exchange best practice.

The forum brought together representatives of sister cities and partners, international organisations, the diplomatic corps and the World Federation of Tourist Cities. Speakers highlighted the role of Dushanbe, modern infrastructure, museums, libraries, parks, hotels and transport services in supporting tourism development.

It was also announced that the Dushanbe International Tourism Exhibition-2026 will be held from 24 to 26 September. The exhibition will present the tourism potential of Tajikistan and Dushanbe, along with products and services from domestic and foreign companies, hotels, restaurants and cultural and historical institutions.
