A forum in Dushanbe discussed the role of Tajikistan's TajCN climate network in responding to climate change.
DUSHANBE, 08.10.2026 /Khovar/. Tajikistan is one of the world’s climate hot spots and among the countries most vulnerable to climate change in Europe and Central Asia. In this context, environmental organisations play an important role in tackling climate change and its impacts.
The forum on the climate network of public organisations of Tajikistan, TajCN (Tajikistan Climate Network), was held in Dushanbe on the initiative of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia in Tajikistan. Participants said the network works with vulnerable communities, farmers, rural women and young people, and supports innovation and community-based approaches with gender equality.
The participants also discussed the upcoming international climate negotiations under COP31, due to be held in Turkey in November. They backed stronger climate policy, active participation in COP31, and special attention to protecting vulnerable communities and climate justice.
