ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE INDEPENDENCE ERA: Tajikistan’s National Library can store up to 10 million books

According to AIT “Khovar”, the National Library of Tajikistan is regarded as one of the major achievements of the country’s independence era. The report says the library plays an important role in preserving, collecting and promoting the national written and cultural heritage.

The published figures state that the library fund holds more than 3 million books, magazines and other printed documents in 63 world languages. Its electronic collection includes more than 330 titles in Tajik, Russian and English, while the number of virtual users has reached 57,600. The “Bibliography” database contains 249,217 bibliographic records of newspaper and magazine articles.
