More than 300 tonnes of cocoons produced in Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, 08.10.2026 /AMIT "Khovar"/. According to official statistics, 325.4 tonnes of cocoons were produced in Tajikistan in the first eight months of this year, equal to 139.4 percent compared with the same period in 2025.

Silk farming is considered one of the country's oldest occupations and one of its most profitable and priority sectors. Cocoon production helps supply raw materials to the country's industrial enterprises, provide employment for the population and raise the production capacity of domestic factories.
