Tajikistan and the IMF discuss improving national statistics

The Agency on Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) intend to continue cooperation in developing official statistics, improving the quality of macroeconomic data and refining the national accounts system. This was discussed on 14 September during a meeting between Agency director Jamshed Nurmahmadzoda and the IMF resident representative in Tajikistan, Ghazi Shbaykat.

Both sides positively assessed the current level of cooperation and confirmed readiness to strengthen professional and technical ties. They also highlighted IMF support for official statistics, including technical assistance, the involvement of international experts and improved training for specialists.
