On 22 October 2026, a meeting of education ministers from Central Asian states and Mongolia was held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, on regional cooperation through multilingual education.
Tajikistan's Minister of Education and Science, Rahim Saidzoda, said such meetings are an important opportunity to exchange national experience and identify ways to use linguistic diversity to improve education quality and strengthen good-neighbourly relations.
The report also says that, alongside Tajik, schools in Tajikistan teach Russian, Uzbek, Kyrgyz, Turkmen and English. It further notes that the quality of teaching and the actual learning outcomes of pupils should remain the main focus.
