Automatic weather station installed in Murghob

Khovar, citing the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, reports that an automatic weather station has been installed at the airport in Murghob district of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region as part of the Hydrometeorology Agency's action plan for the second half of 2026.

The station is equipped with modern measuring instruments and can automatically and in real time measure key weather indicators, including air temperature and humidity, atmospheric pressure, wind direction and speed, surface temperature, sunshine duration, and precipitation (rain and snow). The collected data are transmitted automatically to the Hydrometeorology Agency's rapid data collection centre.
