Communications specialists prepare for the cold season

DUSHANBE, 2026-10-07 /Khovar/. Technical specialists at MegaFon Tajikistan have begun comprehensive preparations for the autumn and winter period at communications facilities. Equipment checks and the provision of backup power sources at base stations are continuing across the country.

The report says that temperature changes, snow, ice and strong winds create serious difficulties for Tajikistan's telecom sector every year. For this reason, staff are carrying out advance system tests and technical servicing of base stations and other infrastructure elements so they can operate in adverse weather conditions.

Particular attention is being paid to uninterrupted electricity supply. More than 100 new diesel generator units will be sent to the country's regions, with about 2.6 million litres of diesel fuel to be delivered for them. The company's technical director said the task includes anticipating risks and preparing teams and equipment for different situations.
