“Our Language Is Our World”. Third forum of linguists from countries with a shared language and culture held in Dushanbe

On 2026-10-16, the National Library of Tajikistan hosted the third forum of linguists from countries with a shared language and culture under the title “Our Language Is Our World”. Linguists and researchers from more than 10 countries, including the Islamic Republic of Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan and the Russian Federation, took part in the event.

At the opening ceremony, Anvar Safarzoda, Assistant to the President of Tajikistan on social development and public relations, conveyed the congratulatory message of President Emomali Rahmon to the participants. Speakers said the Tajik language is an important part of shared scientific and cultural heritage and has a special place in the history of knowledge, literature and thought.

According to the report, the third forum of linguists will continue until 18 October, with visits planned to historical and cultural sites in Dushanbe and Hisor. The forum is organised in five sections covering the history of language, language in the age of globalisation and digitisation, and key issues in linguistics during the period of independence.
