Speech at a meeting with the leaders and activists of Sughd Region to mark the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan

In his address to mark the 35th anniversary of State Independence, the President of Tajikistan congratulated the people of Sughd Region on their achievements during the years of independence and underlined the region's role in the country's development. He said that dozens of new production and social facilities had been put into operation and thousands of new jobs created.

The speech referred to investment in industry, energy, agriculture and transport infrastructure. It also mentioned the reconstruction and construction of power plants, transmission lines, roads, educational and medical facilities, as well as progress in light industry, mining, and the production of cement and construction materials.

The President also described culture, historical heritage and the role of young people as key factors in strengthening national identity, and thanked the people of Sughd for their contribution to the country's development and improvement.
