DUSHANBE, 17.10.2026 / AMIT "Khovar". President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon said today in a congratulatory message on the occasion of Mehrgon that ancient national customs, including Mehrgon, should be linked more closely with modern life and turned into a driver of culture, science and education, tourism, folk crafts and national economic development.
The Head of State said he was pleased that, thanks to ancient national festivals such as Navruz, Tirgon, Mehrgon and Sada, Tajikistan had been presented internationally as a nation with a rich culture, an ancient civilisation and distinctive folk traditions.
According to the President, Mehrgon should become a symbol of appreciation for nature's bounty, the wise use of natural resources, the development of high-quality domestic production, the introduction of new agricultural methods and modern technologies. He also instructed that the holding of national festivals and customs, including Mehrgon, should in future be covered by electronic media and social networks in a more attractive and impactful way.
