On 2026-09-27, Emomali Rahmon was briefed on the project to build an agro-logistics centre in Khorugh. The facility is designed for receiving, storing, processing and preparing agricultural products.
According to the project, the agro-logistics centre will be built in the industrial zone of Khorugh on an area of 2 hectares and will be able to receive and process up to 600 tons of agricultural products at a time.
The centre will be fitted with 3 modern technological lines. Agricultural products will go through sorting, cleaning, quality control, labelling and packaging before being prepared in line with domestic market requirements and international standards. As a result, 64 permanent and seasonal jobs will be created.
The centre will process and package fruit and vegetables produced in the mountainous conditions of Badakhshan. The report says the project is intended to reduce post-harvest losses, improve long-term storage conditions and help increase farmers' incomes.
