Dushanbe, 2026-10-14 /Khovar/. The number of active women entrepreneurs in Tajikistan has reached 110,000, accounting for 28% of business entities.
President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon said today at a meeting with the country's business community and investors that women entrepreneurs were granted 7.2 billion somoni in loans during the first 9 months of this year. This is 29% more than in the same period of 2025.
He said funding to support women’s entrepreneurship should first of all be directed to projects that create sustainable activity, jobs and real income. Women and young entrepreneurs, he added, need not only finance but also knowledge, advice, technology and access to markets.
Rahmon also said institutions supporting entrepreneurship, universities and vocational training centres should expand instruction in business-plan preparation, financial accounting, e-commerce and production management, and link this with internships at enterprises.
