Flash floods forecast in parts of Tajikistan from 23 to 25 September

According to the Hydro-Meteorological Agency under the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, local flash floods are expected from 23 to 25 September in some foothill and mountain districts under republican jurisdiction, Sughd Region and the western districts of GBAO.
DUSHANBE, 23.09.2026 /Khovar/. According to the Hydro-Meteorological Agency under the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, local flash floods are forecast from 23 to 25 September in certain foothill and mountain districts under republican jurisdiction and Sughd Region, as well as in the western districts of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region.
In Khatlon Region, changeable weather is expected from 24 to 25 September, with rain and possible thunder and lightning in some districts during the night of 26 September. Dry weather is expected during the daytime on 26 and 27 September. West winds of 5-10 m/s are forecast, strengthening in some districts to 10-15 m/s on 24-25 September.
In Sughd Region, changeable weather is forecast for 24-25 September, with short-term rain expected in some districts and rain and snow at elevations above 2500 m above sea level. Thunderstorms are also possible in isolated areas.
