Employees of the National Bank of Tajikistan mark State Independence Day in a grand ceremony

DUSHANBE, 2026-09-10 /Khovar/. A ceremonial event was held at the National Bank of Tajikistan training centre, the Khutalon Complex, to mark the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan. Speakers said the history of the country’s banking system is inseparably linked to the building of modern Tajik statehood, and that the role of President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon in this process is central.

First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Hokim Kholiqzoda said State Independence is the greatest national achievement and a manifestation of self-awareness and patriotism. He added that the national banking system has gone through formation, reform and modernisation over 35 years of independence, and has evolved from the early post-independence setup into a modern financial system.
