At a meeting in Seoul between the Minister of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sherali Kabir, and the management of SK Specialty of the Republic of Korea, the prospects for implementing a project to create a unified tungsten value chain in Tajikistan were discussed. The project is based on the Mine-to-Manufacturing model and on the country’s mineral resources.
The two sides also reviewed a phased development model for the project. This includes establishing a central processing and production hub on the basis of one of Tajikistan’s free economic zones, followed by connecting additional tungsten mines under a hub-and-spoke principle.
