Congratulatory message on Teachers' Day

Dear teachers and mentors! Esteemed workers of the education sector!

I sincerely congratulate you on Teachers' Day and wish you health, a happy life and success in your professional work.

Teaching is among the most honourable professions and, at the same time, one with great responsibility, because the development of the state, the progress of society and the future of the nation depend directly on the level of knowledge, outlook and upbringing of generations formed through the efforts of teachers. For this reason, from the earliest days of independence, ensuring the development of science and education, creating favourable conditions for the education and upbringing of the younger generation, and raising the status of teachers in the social policy of the State and Government of Tajikistan were declared priority directions. Over the 35 years of independence, much has been done for the development of the education sector, and measures to improve the social conditions of sector workers and support teachers are taken continuously.

We will continue this process in the future as well, because in conditions of rapid and unprecedented progress in science, engineering and technology, the mission of the teacher becomes even more important and responsible. Teachers should guide adolescents and young people towards the study of modern knowledge, foreign languages, the mastery of modern technologies, and the natural and mathematical sciences, while also bringing them up in the spirit of patriotism, respect for national values, and the preservation and appreciation of ancestral history and culture, as well as diligence and responsibility.
