Tajik specialists in China learn about new developments in cotton growing

DUSHANBE, 16.10.2026 /NIAT Khovar/. From 29 September to 2 October 2026, specialists from the Republic of Tajikistan in the People’s Republic of China became acquainted with the activities of China’s leading innovative seed company, Xinjiang Jinghua Seed Industry Co., Ltd. (part of Longping High-tech).

According to the Tajik Cotton and Textile Association, the delegation included representatives of the Committee for Food Security under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Tajik Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and heads of leading private-sector enterprises from Sughd Region. They visited the company’s research base, modern breeding and molecular genetics laboratories, and demonstration fields, and also met Chinese cotton growers.

The Chinese side presented its latest achievements in biotechnology and high-yield cotton varieties. Particular attention was paid to digital field monitoring, innovative seed preparation, agronomic and irrigation methods, and cotton fibre quality control. The sides discussed quality seed supply, technology transfer, joint field trials and staff exchange programmes.
