“Welcome, blessed Mehregan, great festival of the Khusraws!” Mehregan holiday celebrated in Dushanbe

Dushanbe hosted a ceremonial celebration of Mehregan, one of the ancient national and cultural festivals of the Tajik people. According to Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Sulaimon Ziyozoda, Mehregan is associated with the harvest, preparing the land for the next planting season, and recognising the role of farmers in food security.

The event was held today at the Abu al-Qasim Firdavsi Culture and Recreation Park in Dushanbe, where domestic agricultural achievements, fresh and healthy produce, and valuable farming traditions were presented. In Tajikistan, Mehregan is annually observed after Navruz as the second major national festival.
