Ancient national festival Mehrgon to be held in Dushanbe with special ceremony

Today, in the Abulqosim Firdavsi Culture and Leisure Park in Dushanbe, the Mehrgon festival is being celebrated together with an exhibition-festival of agricultural products and machinery, a beekeepers' festival, a honey exhibition and sale, the festival of Oshi palov, and displays and sales of paddy and rice. On this day, celebrations for watermelon, melon, pumpkin, apple and grape are also taking place.

Farmers from across the country are presenting a wide range of crops, fruit, vegetables and melons with special decorative displays, including melons, watermelons, grapes, persimmons and pomegranates, as well as other agricultural products. The event once again highlights Tajikistan as a fertile and bountiful land.
