On 21 October, the National Library of Tajikistan hosted an academic and literary forum titled ‘Rabi'a Balkhi — the First Call of Love’ to mark the 1,050th anniversary of the gifted poet of the Samanid period, Rabi'a Balkhi.

The event noted that the history of Tajik literature lives through great figures who, with their talent, wisdom and enduring works, have made a valuable contribution to the development of society's spiritual life. Among them, Rabi'a Balkhi holds a special place as one of the earliest women poets.
