157 applicants from Dushanbe qualify for the final stage of the national contest “Science – Light of Knowledge”

Dushanbe hosted the closing ceremony of the city round of the national contest “Science – Light of Knowledge”, after which 157 people received qualification for the final stage. The press centre of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan told Khovar.

The city round was held from 14 to 17 September at Secondary School No. 15 in the Sino district of Dushanbe. Participants were assessed in the categories of Mathematics, Physics and Astronomy, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Information Technologies, Artificial Intelligence and Programming, and Inventiveness and Innovation.

The report says these national contests are held on the initiative and with the support of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, and play an important role in raising knowledge, developing scientific thinking and identifying talented young people. It also stresses that state support for gifted youth and the creation of favourable conditions for developing their abilities are important parts of state policy.
