Artificial intelligence security and its development prospects in Tajikistan; a specialist explains the issue

Dushanbe, 2026-09-15 /Khovar/ — A Tajik specialist sets out security requirements, data governance and phased AI deployment in state institutions, while pointing to international standards and a national AI security framework.
Dushanbe, 2026-09-15 /Khovar/ — This analytical piece focuses on Tajikistan's digital-economy priorities, cybersecurity and the protection of data used in AI systems. The author says public-sector AI should be introduced with data minimisation, purpose limitation, access control, encryption, logging and auditability.
The report also outlines a staged approach to AI in cybersecurity: analytical, lower-risk use first, then managed automation, and later AI agents in a Security Operations Center. It further refers to a future national AI security ecosystem and cites standards such as ISO/IEC 42001:2023, ISO/IEC 27001 and NIST frameworks.
Referring to Tajikistan's UN initiatives, including the 25 July 2025 resolution on the role of AI in creating new opportunities for sustainable development in Central Asia and the 31 August 2026 resolution declaring 31 August International Safe, Secure and Trustworthy AI Day from 2027, the article says the Regional AI Center in Dushanbe could become a hub for knowledge, research and regional cooperation.
