Air pollution is forecast to rise in some districts of Tajikistan

From 11 to 13 September 2026, poorer air quality is expected in parts of Khatlon Region, districts under republican administration and Dushanbe.
According to Khovar, citing the Hydrometeorology Agency of Tajikistan’s Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, an increase in atmospheric air pollution is forecast for 11 to 13 September 2026.
The notice says the deterioration is expected in the cities and districts of Khatlon Region, the districts under republican administration and Dushanbe. It attributes the change to meteorological factors, including dust entering the country from south-western and south-eastern areas.
