President of Tajikistan: “Mehregan should become a driver of culture, tourism and the national economy”
In a congratulatory message for Mehregan, the President of Tajikistan said ancient national traditions should be linked more closely with modern life and turned into a driver of culture, education, tourism, folk crafts and the national economy.

President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon said today in a congratulatory message for the Mehregan holiday that ancient national traditions, including Mehregan, should be tied more closely to modern life and turned into a driver of culture, science and education, tourism, folk crafts and the national economy.
He also said it was gratifying that, thanks to the ancient national festivals of Navruz, Tirgon, Mehregan and Sada, Tajiks have been presented on the international stage as a cultured nation with an ancient civilisation and unique folk traditions.
