Memorandum signed between Tajikistan and Korea on digital forest restoration and climate action

In Seoul on 2026-09-16, following high-level talks between Tajikistan and Korea, 15 new cooperation documents were signed. Among them was a memorandum of cooperation on digital forest restoration and climate action between the Forestry Agency under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Korea Forest Service.

The memorandum aims to promote and strengthen cooperation in forest restoration, biodiversity protection and forest disaster management in order to counter the climate crisis in line with the laws of the two countries. It also recognises the important role of forests in reducing the impact of climate change and adapting to it.

The sides also plan to develop advanced forest information management systems, including satellite-based monitoring, exchange scientific and technical information, hold joint training programmes, seminars and meetings, and exchange experts.
