New requirement introduced for selling electricity through EV charging stations

The Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan said that selling electricity through electric vehicle charging stations has been designated as a special type of activity and now requires a special permit.
DUSHANBE, 2026-10-06 /Khovar/. The Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan informed entrepreneurs and business entities that, under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan decision of 2026-08-28 on the procedure for issuing licences, permitting documents, approval and consent acts, and accepting notifications, the sale of electricity through electric vehicle charging stations has been designated as a special type of activity.
The ministry said that any entrepreneur or business entity already engaged in, or planning to begin, this activity must obtain a special permit from the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Those concerned should register on the website ijozat.mewr.tj and enter the required list of documents in order to formalise the activity and obtain the permit, or contact the ministry directly.
