A republican scientific-practical conference marking the 111th anniversary of Jiri Bečka was held in Dushanbe

The event took place at the Institute for the Study of Problems of Asian and European Countries of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan. It was attended by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Tajikistan, Lubomir Freibort, and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan.

The president of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, Kobiljon Khushvakhtzoda, said Jiri Bečka made a valuable contribution to the study and promotion of the history, culture, language and literature of the Tajik people in the Czech Republic and elsewhere in Europe. Speakers also noted the importance of studying his scholarly legacy for strengthening Tajik-Czech cooperation.
