Dushanbe, 2026-10-14 /Khovar/. Local authorities said the Gross Domestic Product of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region totalled 1 billion 509 million somoni in the first 9 months of 2026, with real growth at 8.0%.
According to the regional executive authority, export volumes also rose by 11.6% compared with the same period in 2025. Paid services in the cities and districts of the region reached 161.4 million somoni, up 21.3% year on year.
The report says the increase in output shows that state policy aimed at expanding the value-added chain by raising the processing level of local raw materials into final products has been chosen and implemented correctly. It also notes that in the 35 years of Tajikistan's state independence, the region has entered a new stage of economic and social development and has achieved notable results in industry, energy, agriculture, roads and transport, entrepreneurship, construction, education, healthcare, culture and tourism.
