Dushanbe, 13.09.2026 /AMIT “Khovar”/. During Tajikistan's independence period, scientists at the Tajik Academy of Agricultural Sciences designed and implemented more than 66 innovative crop-growing technologies. The Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tajikistan told AMIT “Khovar” about this. Over this period, technologies introduced included sowing domestic grain varieties with zero tillage, under-film cotton planting with drip and conventional irrigation methods, obtaining 3-4 harvests of agricultural crops in one year, the use of green manure through sideration, growing oilseed crops in autumn sowing, integrated methods to protect crops from diseases and pests, and methods for reproducing elite and reproductive crop seeds. Efficient use of Tajikistan's land, water and climate makes it possible to organise agricultural production in all four seasons of the year and, alongside supplying the domestic consumer market, to support exports. In the years ahead, special attention will be given to the sector's innovative development, higher yields, better product quality, efficient use of arable land, especially household plots, close cooperation with the private sector and development partners, implementation of investment projects, stronger knowledge and experience among farmers, crop regionalisation, advanced information technology practice and the application of scientific achievements in production in response to climate change.
