Dushanbe, 2026-09-17, Dushanbe /Khovar National News Agency/. For the Republic of Tajikistan, as a landlocked country in the strategically important Central Asian region, the development of transport infrastructure, the strengthening of international links and the enhancement of logistics capacity are of particular importance. This was stated by Tajik Transport Minister Azim Ibrohim at the high-level multilateral session of the Global Conference on Infrastructure Cooperation — GICC 2026, held in Seoul with the participation of senior representatives and international partners from various countries.
According to the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan, the forum discussed key issues including the development of transport infrastructure, the strengthening of international transport connectivity, the expansion of international transport corridors and the attraction of investment into the infrastructure sector.
In his speech, Azim Ibrohim set out Tajikistan’s position on the importance of developing modern, reliable and sustainable transport infrastructure for the country’s socio-economic development and the expansion of trade and transit ties. Tajikistan’s support for broader cooperation with partner states, international financial institutions, investors, engineering companies and the private sector was also underlined. At the same time, the use of modern technologies, the digitalisation of the transport sector, the development of intelligent transport systems and the implementation of electronic transport documentation were highlighted as important.
