Attendance and speech at festive celebrations marking the 35th anniversary of state independence in Khujand

The President of the Republic of Tajikistan congratulated the participants and guests of the festive cultural evening on the 35th anniversary of state independence. He stressed that independence and freedom are the most valuable gift and the greatest achievement of the Tajik nation.

It was noted that over 35 years of independence, including in Sughd Region, major construction and development works have been carried out. In the past five years alone, 15,400 social and production facilities have been built, renovated and commissioned in the cities and districts of the region, which is 3,400 more than the approved plan.

The Head of State said the development of light industry, the fuel and energy complex, mining and processing, metallurgy, and the production of building materials is important for the steady growth of the national economy. After the President's speech, a concert programme featuring artists from the country and Sughd Region was held.
