Dushanbe, 2026-10-25 /Khovar/. Two power substations have been commissioned in Bobojon Ghafurov district to improve electricity supply and the quality of transmission.
According to Khovar, citing the press service of the Chairman of Sughd region, two power substations have been commissioned in Bobojon Ghafurov district. The projects are intended to reduce pressure on the grid and improve electricity transmission quality.
The 110/35/6 kilovolt Arbob substation has been built in the Unji rural jamoat and is expected to ease the load on the Romon, Unji, Leninobod and Sitora substations. A 12-kilometre transmission line was laid for the facility and modern equipment was installed.
Specialists say the new substation will reduce electricity losses from 16 per cent to 7 per cent and raise network voltage from the current 120-130 volts to 220 volts. It is also expected to help reduce power network accidents during the winter season.
