AI-made film by Tajik director wins national award in Tajikistan
The short film 'Duzdi Oftob' by director Komiljon Safarov won the 'Best film created with artificial intelligence' category at the third national film award 'Toji Somon'.
According to Khovar, the awards ceremony for the third National Film Award 'Toji Somon', titled 'Appreciation of genuine art', was held on 19 October 2026 at the Sadriddin Ayni State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre.
At the event, the short film 'Duzdi Oftob' by Tajik director Komiljon Safarov won in the category 'Best film created with artificial intelligence'. The report says this is the first film award in Tajikistan for works made using artificial intelligence.
