On 11 September, during the working visit of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, to Rasht district, the subsidiary juice plant of the Rasht food industry and its cold store were launched.
The facility was built to support domestic production, process local raw materials, increase output of import-substituting goods and supply the home market with quality products.
According to information presented to Emomali Rahmon, construction began in 2023 and was completed in August 2026. During the construction period, 30 specialists were employed, and 17 local residents gained permanent jobs when the plant opened. The plant is equipped with the necessary production machinery and is designed to produce fruit juice in glass containers ranging from 0.5 to 1 litre.
It was reported that the plant's output capacity is 540,000 litres per season and up to 1,200,000 litres per year. Raw materials are supplied by farms in the region and are intended for nearby districts as well as other cities and districts of the republic. Export opportunities were also noted. The President then commissioned the plant's cold store; its total area is 500 square metres, the total cold storage capacity is 600 tonnes, and the plant warehouse is designed to store up to 200 tonnes of goods. A new dried fruit production plant is also planned next to the facility and is expected to be built and commissioned within 1 year.
