“King of dishes”: Oshi palav festival and rice and paddy fair held in grand style

According to a Khovar correspondent at the venue, the event took place on 17.10.2026 at a high organisational level. Farmers from different parts of the country offered various types of rice and other agricultural produce to residents and visitors of the capital at affordable prices. The venue also featured many large pots of oshi palav. Well-known cooks from cities and districts across the country prepared regional varieties of pilaf and explained their cooking methods to visitors. Scientists from the Tajik Academy of Agricultural Sciences presented their findings and recommendations on rice cultivation and increasing yields.
